This is how Dionisio Rodriguez, Director of Geoscientific Investigations at Nicaragua's National University (UNAN) sees the vast wealth locked up below ground due to the lack of development policies which could put a complete end to Nicaragua's dependence on oil. "Nicaragua is Central America's wealthiest country in terms of geothermal energy," he explained, "way ahead of El Salvador and Costa Rica. Of all the region's nations, only Costa Rica is making intelligent use of this massive resource.
